It. Is. Finished. The Agape Home in Salem, Missouri, is freshly painted and weatherized. Twenty teens and four adults with questionable judgment (I am one of those) spent this past week scraping, wire-brushing, sanding, sweeping, scrubbing, painting and sealing portions of the homeless shelter. We finished up at around 4 p.m. Thursday, June 6. Tonight, we celebrate at Crossover, where comedian Bob Smiley, pop-funk group Rhythm, Christian boy band TRUEVibe and headliner Nicole C. Mullen will perform. The kids are looking forward to it. Personally, I'd rather see last year's headliner, Sonic Flood, again. But we old folks always think the old wine is better, now, don't we.
