Tu(n)esday: no cartoons, no spies, no politics, just music
If you all don't mind, I think I'm going to sit out this whole online conversation about the Mohammed cartoon controversy. Plenty of other, more insightful bloggers are spewing forth opinion on both sides of the issue, and I really have nothing to add.

Instead, I'll offer a pleasant diversion: music.

First, from Sterogum presents a full CD worth of guilt-free mp3s for your listening and downloading pleasure. Don't worry; it's all legal. Good Valentine's Day music from Drive-By Truckers (that one's for you, bro), something from Delta 5 that echos the Slits of old, and more. It's hit and miss with these, but you're likely to find something that'll make you smile or tap your feet, or both.

Over at 100 records, they're posting music at a furious rate. Yesterday's post was an homage to a classic but underrated punk band, Stiff Little Fingers (one of Richard Hall's favorites, as I recall), with some tunes for you to sample.(Be sure to read the disclaimer first.)

Meanwhile, fluxblog continues to unearth good tunes with weird titles. Come to think of it, the songs are kinda weird, too.

Pitchfork has some new stuff on its downloads page. The latest, posted on Groundhog Day, is something from the Eels.
