Now playing: London Calling The Clash's London Calling is still the best album ever. I'm listening it to it this morning (for the first time in a long time), and even today, 26 years after its release (27 after its UK release), it sounds as innovative and amazing as it did in 1980. London Calling transcends old-school punk with a tour-de-force of styles: jazz ("Jimmy Jazz"), rockabilly ("Brand New Cadillac"), reggae and dub ("Revolution Rock," "Wrong 'Em Boyo"), ska ("Rudie Can't Fail"), pop ("Train in Vain"), and of course some pure punk in the inimitable Clash style ("Death or Glory," "Hateful," "Hateful," etc.)
