Saturday, interrupted Today was one of those days when I was going to get my stuff together. I had plans to accomplish many things. But that was before Dy discovered that the toilet was leaking.
So, my day turned into a daylong project of fix the leak. After a couple of trips to the hardware store, two unsuccessful attempts on my part to replace the fill valve, replace the flapper, and loosen, tighten and adjust assorted bolts, washers and nuts, I called the plumber, who just left about 20 minutes ago.
Funny how these things happen, and when they happen. Not long ago, I posted something about this Christianity Today piece, Schedule, Interrupted: Discovering God's Time-Management, which talks about how Jesus ministered in the midst of interruptions. Dy and I have been discussing that article and what it has to say about our lives. But theological and theoretical discussion is one thing; applying such insight to our everyday lives is another. So this morning, as Dy was preparing to head to the office to catch up on work (while no one was there to interrupt her), she quipped: "Remember, Jesus always ministered during interruptions."
