Dis-spirited Update, June 20, 2006: "Dis-spirited" is probably too strong a title. "Burned out on religion" might be more accurate. Or "de-spiritualed."
I began this blog 4 years and 3 months ago as an experiment, but it was mostly an extension of my writing about spiritual matters. Maybe you haven't noticed, but I don't write much about spiritual matters these days, or even post links to spiritual discussions. I just don't have much to contribute to that discussion these days. Frankly, a lot of what I read -- about faith, about Christianity, about the emerging church, the new head of the Episcopal church -- all of it just really bores me. Well, occasionally Pat Robertson is good for a laugh, but that's about it.
I got burned out on political blogs some time ago, and I guess I'm getting to the burnout point on the spiritual blogs, too. Religion and politics are too closely connected these days.
These days, the music and pop culture blogs are the ones that appeal most to me. Escapist? Probably.
I may get back into the spirit of blogging about faith, spirituality and Christianity. But not right now.
