No more rock and roll fun for Sleater-Kinney After 11 years as one of the hardest-working rock bands in the world, Sleater-Kinney is going on "indefinite hiatus." No Rock and Roll Fun, which takes its name from an S-K tune, broke the news to me this morning. According to the announcement on the S-K website, the band will split after their summer tour ends.
And just when Sleater-Kinney was starting to get some recognition. Their 2005 album The Woods was one of the best rock albums of the year. S-K was tremendously prolific over those 11 years, and toured mercilessly. I'm surprised they didn't burn out earlier.
