Dinner with Tesco Well, Tesco and I enjoyed a delicious repast, good beer and good conversation this evening at a place called Monk's Cafe, where we settled several important matters, such as:
Punk rock was born in Detroit, home of the MC5, Iggy and the Stooges, and Creem and Lester Bangs (who wasn't originally from Detroit, but wrote some of his best stuff while there).
Contrary to Internet rumor, Tesco does not hate the Beatles.
We share an admiration for the Police, but differ over which album was their finest (me: Zenyatta Mendatta; Tesco: Reggatta del Blanc).
We share a mutual admiration for good Belgian beer.
My trip to Philly is off to a good start. I even got to talk to ALa on the phone.
