Farewell, Godfather
Everyone should listen to James Brown first thing in the morning, for medicinal reasons. - Van Morrison (source).
Rest in peace, Mr. James Brown.
The Godfather of Soul died unexpectedly on Christmas Day at age 73 after being hospitalized for pneumonia. More than 50 albums and 119 charting singles, he more than earned his other title, "The Hardest Working Man in Show Business." Even in death, the soul legend remains controversial, as his lawyer and accountant are said to have locked his widow, Tomi Rae Brown, out of the home she shared with Brown and their 5-year-old son (source). Wherever Mr. Brown is today, let's hope he's feelin' good.
