Philip Yancey's mountaintop experiences Nice little piece about one of my favorite authors. "In Colorado there are 54 mountains over 14,000 feet. I've climbed 35 of the 54 and I'd like to climb all of them. I do most of my writing in a cabin in the mountains and I do something every day -- skiing or cross-country skiing usually -- to get out in the world. The main lesson is that it shows how small we are. It makes you feel like a small creature. You get up in the mountains and you realize you're just a frail and small being -- it's a good thing to keep in mind."
