Rage against the corporate blog machine So the flacks at Warner Bros. decided to try their hand at a bit of guerrilla marketing. "We've heard about these blog thingies," they said in a strategic planning meeting one day. "Why don't we ask some mp3 bloggers to release some of our music on their blogs? It'll be totally viral!"
Only one problem. The folks at Fluxblog weren't buying. "I didn't want to look like the person who was going with anything the label was sending me," said Fluxblog's Matthew Perpetua. Said another mp3 blogger, "You can't just dive headfirst into a subculture and expect it to bend over backwards to cater to your lame attempt at free advertising."
