When bloggers quit Bene Diction ponders what spurs bloggers to log off for good. It's something I've pondered before, and I've gone on a few brief hiatuses during my two-plus years of blogging. The breaks have helped to stave off burnout. But you never know when any of us might just decide to pull the plug, as Joyful Christian apparently has done.
What might keep me from total burnout, I suppose, is that I try to keep this blog fairly superficial. That is, I don't often spill much in the way of guts to the world with this medium. I admire bloggers who do, but I think that might leave them more susceptible to burnout and vulnerability. They become more intimately attached to fellow bloggers, and to the medium.
My advice: lighten up, bloggers. Keep it fun, keep it snarky, don't get too personal, and don't take it too personally. Not that any of you asked, but. I'm just saying.
