Nevermind the baseball...
There's other stuff to blog about besides baseball. There's more to life than the National League Championship Series, I tell myself. There's my job, my family, my church, my interests, and of course, my blog. Which is not, technically, a baseball blog.

So, I'm breaking out of the slump. Here's a quick look around a few of the links:

Tesco has been posting lately about the women of punk rock and, with a little help from his friends, has come up with the definitive list. He also uncovered a great find: Rockin' Rina's Women of 1970s Punk. It's so nice to find kindred spirits out there.

Are smart people overrated? That's not a dumb question, seeing as it comes from a very smart writer, Malcolm Gladwell. Check out his piece on the Change This site, "The Talent Myth", and decide for yourself. Link via Seth Godin.

And the booby prize for best blog headline of the day goes to...

Jordon Cooper celebrates his 5,000th blog post. I think that qualifies him for the blog hall of fame, if there is such a place.

Gideon Strauss shares his thoughts about, and links to, "four blog websites that had my mouth hang open with wonder and delight when I first came across them". Even if the thought of Gideon with his mouth agape repels you, his comments about these sites are worth pondering.

Okay, that didn't help. I'm still freaking worried about the Cards pitching Matt Morris in Game 6 this afternoon.
