Reaching the blog tipping point
Taking a quick break from the countdown/list obsession to do a bit of blog tipping. Discovered via Richard Hall (here), who got the idea from Bene Diction and Ian's Messy Desk, this blog tipping meme goes like this:
Choose three or more bloggers you admire and link to them
List three reasons why you admire each one; and
Add one tip for each blogger.
No sweat. Since it's hard to narrow the list to a mere three, I give you seven:

How now, brownpau?, because he 1.) shares a lot of great links (like this video from YouTube, Chad Vader, Day Shift Manager); 2.) peppers the serious with the silly; 3.) posts interesting photos.

Tip: You already know this, but a little less linklogging, please.

Debi, because she 1.) loves quizzes; 2.) has a great perspective on life and doesn't take herself too seriously; and 3.) is one of my favorite political conservatives.

Tip: Post more often (and get me your list).

Other brother, because 1.) well, he's a blood relative, and we stick together; 2.) he's a great guitarist, better than I'll ever be; 3.) great source of eclectic music.

Tip: A little Nashville Superpickers goes a loooong way.

Tesco (actually this is a group blog but Tesco's the main man behind it all), because 1.) it's the best punk music blog around; 2.) the guy owns some sweet guitars; and 3.) he's just so damn hardcore.

Tip: Not all emo is bad.

Courtney, because 1.) she has great taste in music; 2.) she makes me think of that great Far Side cartoon every time I log on to her site; and 3.) she posts on a broad range of topics.

Tip: Stay away from the tequila.

Gideon Strauss, because he 1.) is erudite, 2.) is obviously well read, and 3.) has some good quotes on his sidebar.

Tip: Move this blog to the "zeitgeist antennae" category, where I belong.

Richard Hall. Hey, even if Richard hadn't blog-tipped me first, I still would have included him. I'm not sucking up. Honestly. Anyway, Richard belongs because he 1.) enjoys an eclectic variety of music, from folk to punk and all things in between; 2.) posts the occasional "hymn of the day"; and 3.) blogs with elan and an incredible sense of grace.

Tip: I can't think of anything. You're doing great.
