Odds and sods: playing catchup I've been a lazy blogger/sod this week, due to pressing obligations in the world beyond the blogosphere. Yes, I do have other obligations, as I know you all do, too. But I also have some obligations to my fellow bloggers, so I'm here to make good on a few of them, and share some other odds and sods.
I've been thinking about my "best of 2006" music/CD review and will probably start posting that in portions beginning this weekend or next week. Or I might just post it as one long entry. To get into the spirit of things, I've been trying to play as much of the year's music as I can during work hours, but it hasn't been working out too well as I haven't been in the office much this week. Most of the week has been spent trapped in meetings.
Most of the music from the past year that I'll be reviewing is listed on the right sidebar, but not all of it.
I saw a girl of about 15 or 16 in the Chinese restaurant at lunch today. She was wearing a "Never Mind the Bollocks Here's the Sex Pistols" T-shirt. She looked like Chrissie Hynde might have looked at that age. I told her that I liked her shirt, and then asked her to name three Sex Pistols songs. She couldn't name any -- not even "Anarchy in the UK" or "God Save the Queen."
I've been getting into this new album from Yusuf (the artist formerly known as Cat Stevens), called An Other Cup. I plan to write a review about it.
I guess instead of writing about what I plan to write about, I should write about the stuff I say I'm planning to write about.
